We plan to charter the last week of March and make the same trip from Marina del Ray. We're finding web sites geared to sailors is tough. They all discuss restaraunts,hotels and sights to see but we can't find much about moorings, harbours, etc. You're obviously from the area - do you know of any sites or any other sources of info that would help us out? Our boat will be in the 45' range but I'm sure most of their harbours can handle that. Thanks

Hi Ken, Here is some additional info. This site explains all you will need. It has the info on course headings from Marina Del rey to (and from) "Two Harbors" also called "The Isthmus". Distance 30 nautical miles. Course headings, cost for moorage, how to pick up a mooring details etc. It also includes the same info for Marina del Rey to Avalon. Regards, Big Joe

I stopped by the beach off LAX on my way home this am. (night shift). The ocean was flat as could be at 8:00 am. Visibilty is 10 miles so you can't see Catalina Island today. Winds this afternoon are to be 10-15kts and choppy seas, wind waves at 1-3 feet, . He'll most likely make it. Regards
