I'm trying to find out some information on the Anniversary Edition of the 26'. I think it was made in 1985, but I'm not sure. Why don't the specs, or reviews show this boat as something different? Are there any real differences or not?

Anniversary Editions

Jeff - I've never seen a 26 Anniversay Edition boat, but typically special editions would have different color schemes, and would include as standard things that were options. How is your boat colored? How is it equipped? If you can tell us, we may be able to figure out what made it special Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Justin, I currently don't own a boat like this but I am looking to buy, ( find ) one. I seen one at the Marina at Buckeye Lake in Ohio, but it wasn't for sale. The boat was colored tan, and had blue trim and stripping. The inside was a deep bright blue upholstery, with a what I consider alot of Teak. The cabin had what looked like six foot of head clearance. I'm moving up from a 25' Mac, and I think this is the boat for me. Thanks for your response

OD 26 Aniversary Ed

I have one but it is not for sale. I paid $9000for it 2 1/2 years ago. It has a hood two line roller furling and it is in very good condition. It is a great boat and I wouln't sell it for the world. It is an excellent boat for the shallow Fl waters. It does have about 5'9" or 10" head room and good room in the cabin. It can come with an inboard but with out it there is tons of storage space under the cock pit. mine has a9.9 electric start ob. Not to many made find one grab it.

26 OD aniversary Ed

My second reply. Mine has an egg shell gel coat with a slighly darker cabin shell and walk ways. It could come with a marine head or a porta potty. I have a 20 gal water tank and a two burner orgi (sp) stove.Bunks for 5. Very nice cabin with that wood strip flooring look that better boats have. I am the 3rd owner and the 2 before me added a lot of goodies and so have I. It is avey good sailer. and will keep up with most all of them in race. I just can't say enough about it. It has a sink and ice box. Mine has pressure water I think was added.

Anniversary 26'

Jeff, My O'day 26 is a 1984 model and sports the O'Day Anniversary plaque on it. I don't know what features if any make it a 'special' model. Mine came with an inboard Yanmar diesel which has been wonderful-and somewhat of a rarity in a 26 footer. It also came with shoreside 110 power and an inverter. Other than these two items it was very similar to my previous O'Day 25. Another feature which I appreciate on the 26 is that the retactable centerboard is accessed directly from the cockpit whereas the 25 had the crank and penant down in the cabin which meant you had to scramble below to raise the centerboard - a real challenge when sailing alone. I have been thrilled with my 26 and thank the previous owner for having installed a furling jib and mainsail. She sails very nicely and is great for me and my family - I have been very happy with my choice and there are few other boats in the same price range that I would consider her equal. Good luck finding one! Regards Greg Jones

Thank You

Thanks for the ad Neil. I called the number, and found that this paticular boat was not an anniversary edition. I'm trying to contact some people on the internet, to find out the difference. It could be just the " Label ". The ones I looked at sure were beautiful boats though. Thanks again.

Anniversary Edition

Hello all, My first time writing on on of these chats. My 26 matches the description mentioned earlier. It has the 25th Aniversary badge on the outside and all the colors match what was mentioned. Very pretty dark blue interior. It was advertised as a 1984 model. I am the third owner and have had it for a year on Lopez Lake in San Luis Obispo. I too love my boat, I think it was very well kept by the previous owners and used to sail on the Pacific out of Dana Point (south of LA). I have my profile in the owner's area but no pics in there yet. I will try to get some uploaded soon. Feel free to contact me. :)

My 26 is not an anniversary edition but seems to be the same as all the colors and features as other notes describe. I don't think you gain much by waiting for an "anniversary"
