I have a 1972 Catalina 27 that I bought from a man who owned it for 30 years. The outboard on it runs but I am looking at replacing it with something new, that I know I will get many more years of use out of.
I am looking at the Tohatsu 9.8. They make a 25” shaft model designed for sailboats. My boat is the model with the opening in the stern, where the outboard fits on the bottom of the opening. My only concern is if the shaft will be to long and interfere or hit the rudder. Does anyone have any experience with this situation?
