25' oday centerboard appears to need securing

I was looking for some information on how the centerboard is held in place on my O'day 25. It appears that there is a piece of metal acting like a stop, 3/4" wide x 3-4" long, held in place by two screws into the bottom of the keel, on the forward end of the keel, holding another metal slab that appears to be holding the centerboard in place. On my boat the stopping piece of metal is on the port side, with only one screw into the keel, and is hanging loose as a result, in addition it appears that I am missing this piece on the starboard side, which has allowed the other metal piece to slip away. I am thinking that my centerboard is now only held in place by the one screw. Are these parts available or do I have to have a machine shop make them. Does anyone have drawings and specs for this assembly? I am ready to launch, but I don't want to loose my centerboard.Thanks in advance.

Jim,My boat doesn't come out of the water. Its also a 25 but I have no idea how teh centerbaord is held in place. I suspect that you'll get an answer BUT if you don't look at the More Fun tab then other sailing sites then The Official O'Day site. Rudy is the man. He worked for O'Day and is now producing boats again. He has parts and knows the boats. He can be hard to get a hold of but worth waiting for.Good Luck,Mike

Mike, I appreciate the heads up about Rudy, as a new O'day owner, and new to this site, I am at a loss to know where to find him. If he is producing boats again, can I contact him at his business? Do you have his email address or last name?

Center Board for 25 Oday

Those two metal plates hold up 2 wedges, one on either side. And each wedge holds up its end of a nylon rod that is the hinge for the center board. Maybe the wedges are "glued" to the center board cavity. Maybe Rudy can get you a plate if you have lost one.
