I saw your post of 8/25/09 and thought you would like to see my bowsprit. I bought a piece of teak (1x18x48) on E-bay and cut it to size, drilled out the inset for the forestay and then routed the outside with a 1/ round bit. I purchased the bow roller on line and mounted it. I mounted the bowsprit to the deck using 4 5/16 machine screws with a backing plate.
