Has anyone ever replaced the front hatch on their 25.5? I have an '85 that needs replacing. Do you know what make and model? I'm assuming Bomar but don't know exact one. Any direction would be appreciated...

Bomar Customer Support

I contacted Bomar Customer Service directly on my 83 H22 front hatch. They are very helpful. They were able to identify mine by asking a group of questions: HOW TO IDENTIFY BOMAR HATCHES 1. Is the frame of your hatch Plastic or Aluminum? 2. Are the hinges of the hatch m olded into the frame or s crewed on to the frame? Please take notice to the hole patt ern in which the screwed on hinges are mounted and also the overall length of the hinge. Is it 3” or 4” long? (If it is 2 1/4” long w e are sorry but we do not make that hinge anymore.) Are your hinges plastic? 3. The latch dog handles that securely lock down your hatch, a re they mounted to your frame, mounted to the lens, or d o they go through your lens and attach with mushroom caps on the outside of the lens? If they have mushroom caps are they flat or domed? 4. Are there any cross bars running under lens that form an “x” or “+”? Or are there support bars that run straight across the underne ath of the lens? T here may not be any support bars and you will be able to see just the lens. 5. When t aking measurements the most helpful place to be is on the deck of the boat. Have your hatch lid open and measure the outer most dimension of the base (just past the screw holes). We need the width and the length. 6. When you have the base measurement please securely lock down the lid on the inside of the boat. Then once again go on to the deck of the boat and your next measurement will be from the deck of the boat to the top of the hatch. This will help to determine if you have a high profile hatch or a low profile hatch. High profile measures 1 1/2” off the deck and low profile measures 1 ” off the deck. The customer service agent was Christee Sharkey (email Christee_Sharkey@pompanette.com). Hope this helps.
