can someone give me a site or info on the centerboard pivot hardware of an o'day 23? has anyone had problems with delamination of the board . if so where did you get replacement parts and approximate costs . thanks
Tim,Sorry noone has responded to your question yet. Usually someone jumps right in and helps. I don't own a 23 or have a centerboard on my O272, but I recommend a call to Rudy Nickerson at D&R Marine in Assonet, Mass.telephone (508)644-300lfax (508)644-3002He's the go-to guy when noone else has a solution for your ODay parts and repair problems. Give him a callBest Regards, Tom
Tim,You can get a lot of information from the owner boat reviews. I just checked the ODay 23 page and there are 39 owners there who may be able to answer your questions about your centerboard. Also there are 5 reviews from other 23 owners The reviews may give you the information you want. If not, there is always the possibility of an e-mail to a reviewer who may be able to help.Keep on tryin'Tom
Tim: the very first post I made to this site dealt with a stuck centerboard on my '79 O'Day 23. I got a lot of great advice and suggestions, so I am always happy to return the favor. If you haven't already done so, check out Rudy at D&R. One thing I learned about the 23 is that the centerboard pivot design seems to be different depending on the model. As I searched for a 23 for purchase, I saw older models (one of the pop-top variety) where the pivot pin was mounted through the keel and therefore accessable from the outside. On my boat, the pivot pin is not visible on the outside of the keel. Good luck.
