Dropped my center board today for inspection and prepping for barrier coat and bottom paint... found plates, screws, and triangles in good shape, but was surprised to find that the pin the keel swings on to be made of nylon of some sort... is that standard or has Po made a substitute??
Also was wondering where to get replacement cable, rope combo that is used in raising lowering... the one pictures on D&R seems to be rope only... anyone use just rope?

Thanx and regards to all....

Original, and replacements from D&R centerboard pin was plastic and apparently plenty strong. It is a pretty tough material whatever it is. Many owners have replaced their CB pendants with all rope for simplicity, and I think O'DAY had made that standard at some point in the production run.

Replaced ours with 3/16 Stayset. Check where the tube enters the top of the centerboard well to determine if the cable has worn a groove in the fiberglass. If it has suggest you smooth it out as it will wear a line and cause a possible hangup.

I've only had installed for a year (in the water most of the time using it 2 times a week) and no problem with fraying.
