I know I am getting old when I can't remember which bulletin board I left which question. I would really like to hear from a 23.5 or 240 owner who has rigged for a cruising spin. Did you use a 3rd halyard? I will be using the jib halyard b/c my furler has its own internal halyard. Does this impact sail shape? I was thinking about attaching two blocks to each side of the boat to handle the sheets. The sheet would run from the sail to a block at the stern, then turn and run to a block mounted on the base of the stanchion in front of the winches (even with the mast) and then I could terminate it either on a winch or cleat. Feel free to email me directly if necessary. Thanks

No additional halyard needed...

Beau, I nhave a H26 and use a CDI furler. I use the jib halyard with my spinnaker and it works fine. Run your lines the way you have discribed and it will work just fine.

I have the sheave box . . .

I asked your same question a couple of weeks ago and didn't get a response . . .I have since purchased the sheave box and halyard exit plate from US Spars ( the decendent to Z-Spar). The ownwes manual says the spinnaker halyard is just a couple of inches above the forestay. Point is it would appear you can get buy without another halyard. I have some sort of compulsion to do it by the book. I will install this weekend if. . .the good Lord, my wife, and the weather do not have other plans for me. . .
