I maintain a 23.5 for the Sea Scouts in Mandeville, LA. I am trying to replace the lifelines and cabin cushions. So far, I have had no luck in locating replacement parts. The owner's manual doesn't even cover either item, the Hunter parts store doesn't seem to carry them.

Lifelines and cushions are generic items and not specific to your Hunter. You will be able to find suppliers of these items near you.

You can supply your original items as patterns.

Try any Ace Hardware store with the helpful hardware man. He can "nicopress" tail piece fittings or opening clasps onto standard plastic sheath cable.

The store on this site has fittings and stuff to do a hand crimp set of lifelines. I used some Johnson fittings and crimper to replace my top lines after Katrina stress tested them! I was pleased with the results. Might be a good scout project. If ya take time and carefully make the hand sweges, the result will be safe and durable.
If ya take the lines off, you can take them to the West Marine there in Mandeville. They can give you estimates and options.
Welcome to the forum, Walker!

I have been putting off replacing my life lines also. These are a few links that spurred my curiosity.

You need to know the hole diameter at the top of the stanchion tip to make sure the new lifeline from whatever source will fit thru. You can purchase new lifelines premade from the forum store as they have the build list for your boat

......... I am trying to replace the lifelines and cabin cushions......
Unfornately the owner's manual does not have the specifications even for new Hunters. Lifelines.........the easiest way to replace them is to remove the lifelines and take them to your local rigger or local or on-line marine chandlrey to fabricate them, then install the new ones or install them yourself form a kit like Suncor. Cushions.........remove the cabin cushions and tak them to your local canvas or upholstery shop to make them.
