23.5 Centerboard

This may be a silly question......but is there anything that keeps the 23.5 centerboard down? This occured to me while out this weekend. I failed to have the rudder held into position, annd noticed it was starting to raise as the boat moved forward. Does the centerboard do the same this?

Thanks Mike. I just got to thinking about it and was curious.I know what you mean about the rudder. We just got our boat in the water, and have a slip at a local lake. It is definatly a pain to get the rudder all the way up!!!
