I recently read a thread regarding removing the cabin lights . I thought it just said to pry off the lense . My lights the lenses are two pieces . The bottom portin rotates to turn the light off and on . If these sound like standard lights what is the proper way to remove the lense ? Sorry no pics this time ,

Turn the lens to the off position , press up a turn a bit farther. The lens comes off. Don't force it because the plastic is old and maybe a bit brittle.

Kind regards

Hugh

Hugh , When pushing up and turning the lense to the off position does a portion of the plastic stay on the fixture ? By that I mean the round clear plastic piece that is right next to the cabin top ? Thanks as always , Mike ,

I want to say yes the plastic part on the overhead stays in place (relying now on my weak memory) and the rotating lens releases when you press up and turn it a bit past the off position. Be firm but don't force it.
