I'm planning on mounting a Asymetrical down haul block on my 1994 23.5 According to some things I've read, this appears to be a good method of trimming her out. It appears that The Bow cleat is tapped into a peice of aluminum. Is there room to install a standing / swivel block in the surronding area? Or does anyone have a suggestion on where to best mount the block for down haul? Thanks for the help. John

Same question

I have an H240 that also has a cruising chute. Right now I simply tie the tack line off on to the bow pulpit. I'm considering a block and running the line down the port side to the cockpit similar to the furling line. My stem fitting has a hole forward of the attachment point for the furler. I was considering putting the turning block there?

Responding to Sean ....

I considered the same hole, but thought it might interfear with the Furler winding mechanism. So I considered drilling and tapping a standup block just to the side of that mount. I'm wondering if there is any metal imbedded in the fiberglass in that area?

Stem fitting block

I was considering using a small turning block and installing the stand up spring over the shackle that keeps it from flopping around. I haven't measured any of this yet, but I don't think it will foul the drum for your furler.
