Differences between 22 and 222
Mike, I have a 22 and a fellow sailor on my lake has a 222 which I have only seen so far from a distance. The 222 was the successor to the 22. O'Day stopped building the 22 in the mid 80's and then offered the 222 from then until the company died. The length over all of the two boats is almost identical, however the 222 is abot a foot wider in the beam. The 222 had a bit more "modern" look, most noticeably the ports. The forward sloping rake to the stern in the 22 was mostly done away with in favor of an almost verticle sheer. The 222 has a bit more sail. I can't comment on any differences in the cabin, or the sailing characteristics. Bob McGee
