Hi Gang! Say, has anybody seen the v-berths? Hear they're available, but no visuals available from Hunter. I'm even thinking of "build-it-yourself, so if anyone has dimensions or specs, would appreciate same. Also, anything on the proposed traveler? Thanks.

Saw the V-Berth at Annapolis Show
I saw the V-Berth option at the Annapolis show in the fall. I was ok, but it's hard to exactly know if was the final version because I believe it was a mock-up since the 216 at that point was still relatively new. It would serve the purpose for an overnight and there is a cut-out space for a porta-potty. I checked with Hunter and they said not much has changed from the one shown in Annapolis, but I believe they might have made some changes in the fabric covering V-berth boards. I also asked Hunter to put some pics up on the Web Site so folks could at least get some visuals. I may purchase the V-Berth, but in the same breath, I too am considering building one and am curious if others have any specs or measurements handy! My bet is someone out there is already being way creative and is probably clunking around inside the cuddy with their tape measure out and or actively installed their own custom built V-Berth! Anyone else out there seen the V-Berth or considering building one??

Congratulations on getting them free! However, after doing some research, I've decided to not go with the V-berth, for now. Reports from the dealers in field suggest that the V-berth might be too heavy for the bow of the boat, and frankly, $700 bucks is a lot of cash for a couple of laminate boards (or heavy compressed partical boards) with two or three cushions. They don't flip open for storage options and do not cover much area in the front. I'm willing to bet someone out there will design their own - I might later, but for now, sailing season is on the way!!!
