Lind from Hunter customer service tells me that the mast on the 216 is hollow, with no internal obstructions. So, feel free to mount mast lights and antennas, knowing that you'll be able to internally route the cabling. He is going to call me and address my concerns about sandbag weighting and localized stresses to the unfinished portion of the hull. I'll post the results of that conversation. Bob

Plans?

Midn sharing your plans to light? I considered it but so far, batteries and suction cup runnig lights suffice. I understnad you theoretically can get an add-on alternator for the outboard?

216 mast wiring

I have no immediate plans for lighting up the mast. I was going through a spell of trying to find a handheld VHF radio at West Marine that had enough RX audio output to be heard over the running motor while transitioning bridges. After experiencing frustration in that arena, I was considering a fixed-mount VHF mobile, eg; the mast inquiry for antenna mounting purposes. I have since found a portable radio that I THINK will do the trick. Bob
