My 212 has arrived. I had requested the rear netting to keep the dog off the rear swim area: this wont be available until after the fall boat shows. So far, the buying experience with Backyard Boats(Alexandria, VA) has been great with Tom Hatch: he is the 212 man, no doubt. Anyone on the Chesapeake bay with a212? I would love to race ya!

FINALLY

Glad to see someone has finally got one. How does the boat handle? With the stern open do you find that boat wakes are a problem with water entering the boat? Any info at all would be appreciated. I've only seen them in photos so far. THANKS

more on the 212

My 212 is sitting on it's trailer(nothing special about the trailer). Keep in mind this is not a gel coated boat. The finish is not as clean as i would have thought. Imperfections in the hull outer layer exist: mostly cosmetic. The interior headliner material is uneven. It is a lot of boat for the money. I soon will report on the sailing features.

kind of slow

I think the new 212 is a nice looking boat but this weekend in 15 knot winds, I blew past one in my Precison 21 and saw three catalina 22's and an oday 20 easily pass the 212. The 212 was being sailed by a very experienced sailor I know and he told me the boat is kind of slow and that he tried everything to keep it from being embarrassed. I really like the stern arrangement on the 212.
