Hunter Horizon 23 Burnha-on-Sea
Hi All,

21 years ago my father-in-law purchased a new Hunter Horizon 23 self-build kit. The boat is basically a fiberglass shell, even the windows would need to be cut out. Sadly, it has been sat on a trailer, exposed to the elements, all this time (and has turned from white to green).

Could anyone advise us if this is still a viable project, or, is it likely to have suffered irreparable (or uneconomical) damage whilst sat there?

It's a little bit of an awkward situation (which is why we've not been able to properly inspect the boat shell in person), but if anyone could help us with a definitive 'yes or no' before we approach him it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Pam

If the kit includes all the fittings and components, it would be a labor of love; if none of the stuff is with it, it would cost a lot more to finish than it would cost to buy a good used boat of that size. Things like the mast, boom, sails and rigging would be very expensive.
