I have just purchased a 21.7 with a kit for lowering the mast. The trouble is I cannot figure out how the kit works. Does anyone know?

Does it have a gin pole, an A-frame or something else??

Easy... after the fore-stay is disconnected correctly and you have assembled all the mast raising parts and you've had some practice and you are on the hard while not in a hurry. It also helps if you know how to keep hold of the tiger tail while unlocking the cage, otherwise ask for a knowledgeable hand the first time.
