I am looking for technical information about the design and construction of a 2017 Oceanis 45. The Beneteau dealer in San Diego cannot answer my questions or concerns. I wish to purchase a 2017 Beneteau Oceanis 45 and it has experienced liner damage during transport from the east coast to California. It has been repaired and I have been told that the hull did not have any issues (cracks). Only the liner needed to be a repaired (10” by 4’ section) The boat is under warranty. I am looking for reasons why this would happen during transport and how it will affect the longevity of this boat. I am also concerned that a hull warranty claim might be rejected due to this damage.
Does someone have an understanding of what could have caused the liner to crack and not the hull? The boat is pristine except for this. I am concerned that the forces that caused this issue may have weakened other critical components.
