2014 Marlow Hunter e33 Issues

I purchased a 2014 e33 and have been working through small issues with the boat. One thing that seems odd is related to the galley top load cooler. There is a drain hose connected to the bucket, however it is not connected to anything. I've looked everywhere and cannot see where this hose should connect. It's an issue because the hose is simply laying under the fridge. If water drains, it ends up in the engine compartment and under the floor boards. I'm surprised it is not run to the thru hull for the galley sink, or at minimum into the bilge.

The bilge stays dry given the sump pump box for the shower, A/C drain, and sink in the head.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

FWIW,
In 1979, my brand new H 30 C was delivered with no hose and no bucket!
I showed the resultant water in the sink locker to the dealer service manager.
He shrugged and then drilled a limber hole to the bilge and attached a hose.
Since it is a wet bilge, I didn't object.
That lack of QC happening is a manufacturing reality all over the world.
Just be glad they didn't forget to use sealant on the through hole skin fittings...

Thanks for the response. I've been thinking I will tie it into the drain for the galley sink. The bilge stays dry so just cutting a hole to get below just doesn't make sense. I'm very impressed with the fit and finish on this boat. My previous boat was a 2001 Hunter 340, which we loved, but the improvements and attention to detail on the e33 is nice. I also found out that there was a top load refrigerator option for this cooler area, however the Waeco CB-40 is discontinued and Dometic doesn't have a follow on product.

Sounds like you’ve got it figured out (I’d do the same btw), but consider reaching out to Hunter. They still might have additional info on a boat that new.

Unfortunately they recently shut down the Marlow Hunter website. The only resources I've found are right here. I started this thread to see if I could find some other e33 owners to share stories and fixes with.

I’ll be your huckleberry. I have addressed many issues with the Hunter e33 so ask away. I will help where I can.
I purchased (ie paid in full) but had not taken possession of a new 2012 on May, 3 2012. I had traded in my previous sailboat in the purchase. Three days later on May 6, boatless and bored I read on line that Hunter plus Silverton, Mainship, etal had entered into Chapter 11 bankruptcy. A bit of a shock as I was unable to immediately contact my dealer who had my money and sailboat. All ended well and I did take possession a month later and I could not have asked anymore from my dealer. As a retired engineer with oodles of time to find faults, I was probably his worse nightmare as a customer.
PS I love the e33. It is a great boat for what it was designed for, coastal sailing.
PSS In place of the cooler box with the drain hose that you have, I have a top loading fridge/freezer. Sorry I am unable to help with your 1st question. Next?

You can find a little info on this site.
Hunter e33 Documents - SBO
Otherwise most manuals, for individual pieces of kit, can be found on the web in pdf format. I find them much easier to search on than paper manuals in addition to the weight and space savings.

This is an important statement for all boaters. Many believe that boats are made very much like cars. This is incorrect. Boat hulls and interior cabinetry are made on sight at the boatyard. The "kit" (all the system parts) is acquired by the builder from a variety of sources. As your boat ages, the builder may install parts from different manufacturers than from previous builds. The new boat is sometimes given a version name, i.e., "Mark2". This can indicate different design features or significant hardware changes. The best data for your Kit can often be found by searching for the kit manufacturer rather than the boat builder.
