To all New 2012 Hunter 33 (a.k.a. e33) boat owners.

Given that this model is a major redesign from the H33, I think it would be a good idea to document any issue that we have with our boats, on this forum. The intent is not to make us paranoid, but to bring to light those items that may be corrected while still under warranty.
I agree with Hello Below. Not sure how to compile all the issues in one place on this site...any suggestions?

One thing I'm not sure if I agree on, is that we e33 is a complete redesign. Yes, the e33 is a redesign, but it uses all the same components as the previous model. You would think they would have worked the bugs outs by now.

I'm sure I will be happy with my new boat.....but I hate to feel that I will have to start looking for problems starting from day one. Fortunately the dealer is only 45 min away by road, or 4 hours across the lake.

Start a thread with issues and keep adding to it when something else arises. If it becomes significant, we may stick it to the top of the Mid-size boat forum.

The e33 hull was changed, longer cockpit, main sheet lead back to the helm, redesigend arch, flush mount hatches in the coach roof, redesigned interior.....

Still uses the Selden mast and furling unit. Lewmar blocks, Lewmar winches.

I'm sure that as time goes by, suppliers of various components change, i.e. fridge, freezer, hot water heater, isolator, piping, fittings etc. etc. So it's hard to say what may come up.

I'm on my 6th season and have only one issue come up and that was with Yanmar, which they repaired under their warranty and was changed in their production run. I now have over 500 hours on the engine, fired up no problem this spring and still runs great. Otherwise the boat has been relatively trouble free other than wear and tear....... touch wood ;)

Threads are perishable; they fall off the menu eventually and nothing going to be stuck at the top forever. I'll add the e33 to the boat review section (under Boat Info -> Models) and once you guys get through your commissioning put your thoughts there. The reviews are incredible resource for prospective buyers.

Hi Phil,

Is there a way to re-assign the thread "Hunter e33 - issues and concens"
Currently it is tagged under the 33 model. Can you change it to the e33 model?
