Hi,

I am looking to repair one of the clutches on a 4 bank clutch assembly. Unfortunately the nuts on the screws holding it down are behind the headliner. Any thoughts or advice on how to drop the headliner without ruining it? Or a trick to replace worn parts without removing it from deck?

Thanks
Jim

You can disassemble from the top. There are 2 long bolts holding the cheeks and the 4 clutches together. Undo the 2 long bolts and you can replace the 4 (or only the US) clutches.

Did you try to take the screws out from the top and see if they are threaded into an aluminum plate in the the fiberglass? This is common on Hunter boats. If the screw just spins, then I would think it has a nut on it. But if it backs out, it is probably in a threaded plate and you don’t need to open the headliner.

Thanks for the quick responses.

I ended up disassembling from the top and that worked. There are definitely nuts on the underside on this configurations.

How are you going to reinstall? Did you take the headliner down?

Not sure nuts would come off without holding them…so maybe there is a threaded plate in there…just saying.
