Has anyone figured out how to either tighten up or lift the rudder all the way up on the new 25. My boat is moored all season long and with the rudder down the whole steering assy seems too loosen up. It also seems to give the boat too much steerage while sailing on the mooring. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There was a post on 6-12-06. Check the archives. I haven't changed my boat, but will before the Spring launch.

Not all the way up like the older models

I took off all the rudder raising tackle on mine. You dont need it to lift the rudder as it floats anyway. I then ran a line from the front corner of the rudder, where the factory lift line attached, then ran that down and around the bottom of the rudder bracket. Then I can pull up on the line and tie it to the cleat and get the rudder just out of the water. This only gets the rudder out about 2 inches, and of course, it sticks out behind the boat. I don't see any way to get the rudder to flip completly up (bottom toward the sky), without actually modifying the rudder. Once the rudder barely clears the water, the rudder itself hits the bracket. I am open for any suggestions on this as well. It would be really nice to get the rudder completely out of the water and out of harms way from passing boats at the marina.
