Not all the way up like the older models
I took off all the rudder raising tackle on mine. You dont need it to lift the rudder as it floats anyway. I then ran a line from the front corner of the rudder, where the factory lift line attached, then ran that down and around the bottom of the rudder bracket. Then I can pull up on the line and tie it to the cleat and get the rudder just out of the water. This only gets the rudder out about 2 inches, and of course, it sticks out behind the boat. I don't see any way to get the rudder to flip completly up (bottom toward the sky), without actually modifying the rudder. Once the rudder barely clears the water, the rudder itself hits the bracket. I am open for any suggestions on this as well. It would be really nice to get the rudder completely out of the water and out of harms way from passing boats at the marina.
