I currently own a 2007 Hunter 25, which sits on a mooring all season. I'm having an issue where it is untwisting the mooring penant and knoting all up. Its moored in river on the mouth of Nantucket Sound, so I get both alot of current and wind at the same time. Is this a Hunter issue, and does anyone with this boat or a 260 have any suggestions. Thank you very much in adance.

you need to attach floats

This problem is caused by currents that are stonger than an opposing wind. The boat points into the wind but the current draws it in front of or around the mooring line(s). I have this same issue up in Salem (Massachusetts). I bought one of those kiddie pool 'noodles' for $1.84 at WalMart. It is basically a five foot closed cell foam tube. I cut it in half and then split it open down the middle. I slid the pennants, I have two, inside and used zip ties to keep it on. No more problem because the first three or four feet nearest the mooring are always floating on the surface away from the mooring ball and chain. They no longer get fouled and twisted. I would also make sure you have a swivle on your mooring shackle and it is working (not fouled). If you do have one and it is functioning properly then I would guess the above technique will solve your problem. If you don't have a swivel then you must get one. Good luck Andy
