Galesville offers abundant anchorage, public dinghy dock, numerous marina facilities, harborside restaurants, and a general store. While everything in this bucolic setting is within easy walking distance, community bicycles are also available for shoreside transportation. Hartge Yacht Yard (http://www.hartgeyard.com/) is perhaps the oldest family owned boat yard on Chesapeake Bay, and still retains its ¡§working yard¡¨ heritage. The yard offers shower facilities, ¡§honor-system¡¨ ice, and fuel, as well as slips and moorings (reservations required). The yard even features an on-site marine museum.
