We have a 2005 Center Cockpit Hunter45CC, and I need to replace the bungie cords on both sided of the companion way that slides down so as to get into the interior of the boat. It seems that you would have to remove the entire companion way to gain access so as to install new bungie cords. If anyone has done this I would appreciate how you did it and what parts need to be removed so as to be able to completely take out the sliding companion way out and install new bungie cords.
Thanks,
Jeff Jellick

There are 2 springs on the 2008 45CC. Replacements can be purchased on this site.
The secret is: so not allow the lexan door to lift away from the door guide. If it does, the coil spring will fold and cracking and breaks.
One end of the spring attaches to the bottom of the door; the door holds it flat. The other end is coiled mid way up the door.

A few screws will allow you to take the door guide apart; allowing you to move the door up till the spring attached to the door is fully coiled. There is a cover over the coiled spring with one screw holding it.
If the door is grabbing. One of the spring probably has a crack that is caught if on the guide.

if you want to discuss or photos and such message me
