The diesel fuel indicator first read zero when the tank was full. Then it seemed to have about 7/8 of a tank and the indicator was on about 7 0r 8 out of ten. Then it was reating 6 out of ten when there was only 5 gallons left in a 25 gallon tank. Then after filling up, with 20+ gallons it read 8 out of 10 and now is reading 4 out of ten after running for about one hour. I think I need a new sensor. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Fuel guage

The fuel guage on my 2000 340 didn't work from day one. I filled up on fuel often to make sure I didn't run out, until I finally got around to replacing the sensor.

Hmmm...

On my 2004 H33 it only gives a reading when you first turn it on and then whenever you push the "C" button. Other than that it has been accurate as I have verified by crawling back there with a flash light and double checking. Are the fresh water and waste tank readings accurate? I am pretty sure they both use the same sensor type (external).

Fuel tank indicator

I have checked with Snake River who makes the tank indicator for Hunter. I am having no trouble with the fresh water and the waste water indicators. Snake River has indicated that the diesel indicator is different. Mine shows the tank level when you on the tank indicator and you can scoll between the three tanks to check the fluid levels. Each has ten bars with ten being full. The "C" according to my manual is for calibration. When I press on "C" when I turn on the tank indicator, then each tank has a read out and the choice to reset. Does yours only give a reading when you press "C"? Mine shows the reading until you select another tank or turn it off.

i guess your check cleared!!!

your dealer dosn't seem to want to help you much anymore, did he show you to your boat or tell you which dock to find it on.

Hmmm..

Andy, Where did you go to 'check' the level of the tank. I imagine the tank is under the rear birth? I also have an incorrect reading on my H33 level indicator. I filled the tank, calibrated to full, but it only reads half full. I got the water and waste tanks levels to calibrate ok, though Michael

we've got the same problem on our 356, the water and waste read corectly and the fuel hasn't worked since day one! Our dealer must be from the "drive it off the lot" warrranty family because he's ignored it for 3 years now

Hmmm...

I didn't know I was that lucky. My diesel gauge has worked from day one. To get to the tank go into the rear (aft) berth, open the back access door to get into the area under the cockpit in the stern area. The waste tank will be on your left (starboard) and the fuel tank will be on your right (port). I hold the flashlight against the tank and it lights it up pretty well so I can see inside. I have checked it multiple times this season, being a new boat, and it has been dead on correct each time. Andy

Hmmmm.... Continued

Thanks for the reply. Fuel tank must be plastic, like the water tank. Now I know why my H33 is listing to port - Full Fuel Tank, and storing my roll up inflatable in lazarette along with spinnaker, and inflatable Kayak (2 person) under the forward setee---- a lot of weight on the port side.
