2000 Model 290 table-setee arrangement

We know how to drop the table by removing the pin but the table is probably 3/4" from resting on the floor when the bottom of the table is resting on the seat base. I can rest it on the seat and then lay down but it seems poorly supported. There is a folding cushion that fits the space quite nicely on the table top but it has two straps with domes on the ends and no place I can find to snap them to.
Was the table designed to be used as a double berth when lowered? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,

Dan

The table was designed to be used as a double berth when lowered. My table cushions to not have those straps on them, FYI. I have had a guest sleep on the table, and it helps to make the sleeping space larger if the lower set of backrest cushions are removed.
