A 270 is a 260 with a keel. A good friend slips his 270 just across the dock from my 260, we sail both boats back and forth. His 270 has a 10 hp outboard.
The 270 is a bit stiffer for the first 5* but after that both boats seem about the same.
They are good boats, easy to sail, not a race boat but do perform very well in ight air.
Very roomy down below and in the cockpit. We have enjoyed living on our 260 with our dog for months at a time.
The winches are on the coach roof, not the best place for single handing the boat but lots of people do it. I replaced my winches with a pair of Andersen st's, makes it easier to trim.
The mainsheet can be moved forward on the boom to allow a very large bimini to be used (check out the pictures of the bimini in my photo album).
The 270 had a small traveller mounted on the bridge deck so it has large bimini as well.
The only draw back would be that it is not as easy to trailer with the keel.
If you buy it I don't think you will regret it, good luck, Bob
