2 stroke outboard service Southern California

Anyone know a mechanic that works on 2 stroke outboards in Southern California? I should repalce the water pump on my 8hp, 2 stroke Johnson but I'm nervous about doing it myself.

Tom Smith Marine on Gardena Ave in Signal Hill (Long Beach); 562-427-6800. Worked on my 2 hp Evinrude and 8 hp Johnson. However, big engine projects get priority, so there may be a wait to get it done. Fair prices.

I was nervous too but if you have the time and some basic tools, a little mechanical experience, it will be easy.

I've used both Min Mar and Tom Smiith. Both services are great, and both do good work. For small motors I usually recommend Min Mar though. The reason is Min Mar has a larger staff, and on small motors, they work on these motors during the breaks between the large jobs. More people means there are more chances to get the motors to someone sooner, so the turnaround on small motors has always been quicker.
