Peggie, please excuse me I know that you have answered this question but I can not find it. What brand of the self contained MSD do you recomend?

The other question, I want to put in a fresh water tank under the V berth and was thinking about one of the Plastmo flex ones, so that I don't have to cut an opening. Do they have a taste or smell?

If they do, I'll just bite the bullet and go to Ronco.

If you mean the MSD portapotties, I'm partial to the Theftord 365 MSD

Plastimo is kinda the "jabsco" of bladders...I'd go with Nauta instead. But good quality bladder that'll last more than a few years will cost you as much or more than rigid tank from Ronco, However, taste/smell isn't an issue with any of 'em.
