I think this is a new one. I am aware of the issues with the starter button and wire size but this one is beyond me. When the battery selector if turned to either 1 or 2 or both, the solenoid engages and the motor start even when the key is not in the ignition. The solenoid then gets very hot which is alleviated by turning the battery selector to off. The motor continues to run however I cannot use any of the dc accessories, (lights, water, etc) Any ideas or advice would be welcomed.

I think you're just looking for points on coming up with a question which has never been asked before.

Not being there, I'm going to say that the "push start button" is permanently in the closed (ON) position.

Disconnect a hot wire (+) from the push button and see if the problem disappears. If so, replace the push button.
