My old 28' S2 has the old 6.5 hp Yan 1GM engine that seemed underpowered in thunderstorms and heavy headwindsa and seas. With her out of the water for awhile, I have obtained a good 2GMF 13 hp engine and will probably replace the 1GM. I want more power in bad situations and the ability to motor for days at a time when there is little wind. So, the question is; 2 blade or 3 blade? I had a 3 blade with the old engine that I may put back on and have it re-pitched. Folding prop would be nice but too expensive. Any suggestions?

David: Read this thread. The same go for your situation as with these other boats. http://www.sailboatowners.com/forums/pview.tpl?sku=2002338101731.71&forumabr=pdt&fno=120 If you are pleased with a three blade prop, then just have it reworked. If you want to sail a little faster and still have the power to move you, consider a two blade with winglets.
