1999 340 Yanmar 27hp engine help please

I am desperate, my 340 based in Gibraltar, has just been diagnosed as a SHOT engine. Very irregular use, and the person designated to provide care and attention, didn't.

My questions are, based no no formal examination of the engine atall.

Q1) How easy to remove entire engine, gear box combination.

Q2) Having removed, is a rebuild possible.

Q3) Are refurbished engines available.

Any other matters of consideration would be appreciated.

What is wrong with it?
Top overhauls can be done with the engine in-situ but cylinder work or bearings need it to be removed.
Best to know why your man diagnosed it as SHOT because it may not be so.

I hope to have the answer to "shot" very soon, thank you for your quick response, lets hope shot is not terminal, if so............
