I need to remove my Doyle Stackpack Mainsail. The sail slides are inside the mast. I am not sure how to remove them.
My other boats had a sail stop in the groove. All I had to do was take it off and the slides would fall free.
The slides on the 340 are stopped by the boom mount on the mast and the mount cannot be removed.
Need to know the best way to remove it.

TIA

Bill

Remove boom at the gooseneck then remove one boom end cap?
Don't know your set up, sorry.

Found this photo of my 340 mast with the mainsail removed. The wider portion of the slot at the top of the photo is opened up by removing a screwed in portion of the mast slot, and the sail slides come out through the wider gap. Don't know if yours is the same. I did drop screws down the slot and had to buy replacements, so be careful, they're still down there at the base of the mast.

The mast on my 2000 H340 is the same as Bill's in the post above. There should be a removeable insert held in with two screws that fits into the wide slot on the mast. Selden # 505-516. BTW, if you stuff some paper towels into the mast slot just below the mast gate, you can keep the screws from falling when you remove/install the gate.
