I have a 1998 Hunter 340 with a keel that appears to be made of a different metal than the typical rusting steel that was on my 1986 Hunter 28.5. It appears that I may have a corrosion problem developing in a manner that is not familar to me. It appears that on the bulb portion of the keel there is rough raised area about 1/2" high the size of your hand. In comparing other similar keels, it seems that this bubble area is corroding and that the eventual failure mode is for this bubble area to chip off exposing a rough area about an 1" deep the size of your hand.Is my conclusion correct? Should I take some kind of action like sanding it down or sealing the area in some fashion? Or should I forget it because it is just a manufacturer defect and it is only cosmetic? Thanks, Mark Mowery
