What I did

I have a 94. About three weeks ago -- I just took the squiggle off. You can see the picture I posted earlier here. But I can't speak for getting new graphics.

Any local sign shop can make vinyl graphics, as well as West Marine or Boat US. But it ain't cheap, so get estimates before you remove the old vinyl.

How I did it

John, (others may have done it differently) I carefully (underline carefully) used a razor blade scraper to get pieces started and then just pulled and pulled. Some pieces came off easily, some took patience. I used a bit of Goo Gone to help get the glue remnant off. And then did some light scrubbing with some marine fiberglass powder cleaning. The whole job didn't take but a couple of hours. I plan now to use PolyGlow over the whole hull.

what is polyglow?

What exactly is polyglow. Is it just a polish or is there a compound in it that will hide where the decal was.

PolyGlow is great stuff (details)

It's an acrylic finish that goes over tired gelcoat and "restores" a beautiful shine. I works better than most other brands I have tried. After cleaning and preparation it is very easy to apply. It will last a season or two depending on your location. It is difficult to strip or remove if you ever decide to do that. I'd only use it on older vessels with weathered gelcoat. I'd only strip it if I was going to paint the vessel.
