Does any know the market value of a 26'wb in excellent condition? I'm looking @ a 1994 model verus a 1998 or 1999 model. The price swings on these boats are unbelievable. Any thought on this will be greatly appreciated. This will be my first sail boat.

Check out yachtworld.com

If you haven't already you might want to look at www.yachtworld.com in the "Boats for Sale" section. It's a big database of boats so you should be able to get a pretty good idea of the asking prices on comps. Remember that many of them probably sell for less than the listed price... Have fun!

Pricing - NADA

I have found that the NADA books give a good price listing. Here is the link: 'http://www2.nadaguides.com/' check them out.

1994 Hunter 26

Brian, We bought a 95 H26 last year . Had to go to Fla. to get it. Paid 18,500. Really good condition. I've seen them as much as 23,500. Look around and compare options to options. Get a surveyor to look at the boat then make an offer. Good Luck Paul S/V Linda Belle

Used boats

Brian; You are correct that prices do vary alot but there are many factors to be considered. First are the options found on board for example the Hunter 26 in the beginning did not have stern rail seats but the later models did. The 26 did not come with an option of wheel steering from the factory. It was an aftmarket item and unless it was done correctly, installation could be sloppy. The condition of the boat and equipment is another factor. Does everything work? How much will it cost to repair and/or replaced. One boat may be higher as it is in pristeen condition versus one that is not been taken care of. Later models might have warranties still in place. Another factor for example is the Hujnter 26 was refined. Another factor is salt water corrosion and that goes back to the owner taking care of the boat. Freight to the west coast is higher than the east coast. As I have indicated, there are many factors when looking at a boat and hopefully this will help you from a dealer perspective viewpoint. If buying used from a dealer, see if he will stand behind it. The Hunter 26 and now the 260 are two good boats that I firmly believe in. Crazy dave Condom Whoops! I mispelled my last name ps I had many pet names growing up
