1994 Hunter 23.5 Battery

Hello. We are new to sailboat ownership, and have purchased a 1994 Hunter 23.5. As we make her ready for the first outing, I am sure we will have many questions. My first one is the location of where the battery should go. I have not had time to trace any wires, and any information would be helpful. Thanks.....jer

Welcome to sailing. The 23.5 is a fairly simple boat so it should be a good choice.The stock battery location is under the starboard berth to the right of the stairs. There is a small platform molded in to the hull. Make sure the battery is inside a plastic case and strapped down to avoid spilling acid when the boat leans. On my boat, I moved the battery under the sick to balance the weight of a 4 stroke outboard motor. There is a platform molded in there too. It is a tight fit to get the battery into that location. The 4 stroke motor is heavier but the pollution is so much less.Have fun on the water!Gary NicholsFarmington Hills, Michigan (with relatives in Dallas - good boating there)
