Folks,

I'm looking at a 1992 Catalina 36...not sure what mark this makes it.

She's got a wing keel, tall mast, new(er) sails and a folding prop.

90% of my time will be spent crusing, but I wouldn't mind doing the occasional long distance solo race. Any idea what PERF these boats get. I'll be sailing on the great lakes, but am open to hear how she does all over.

Many Thanks!!

Chuck

Suggest you go to the C36 Association website, and sign up for their Forum, too, no cost, like this. Great guys there. www.c36ia.org

According to us sailing:

Catalina 36 TR WK
Rates between 144 and 150. None in LM but this should get you going.
These numbers will assume folding prop and spinnaker DW

Say, would you have a link for C - 30 ratings, standard rig, non-spinaker, 5.3" draft? Thanks.

OK, one more .... ;^)

US sailing does track not rates for boats sailing NFS (No Flying Headsails). Sometimes a fleet/club will assign a higher number for non-spin use, but more common is to use the same numbers for a non-spin fleet that is scored on its own. I'd check with you local fleet (and club) to see how they race non-spin boats. But here are the numbers for spin. Note this also assumes a folding prop. You get 3-12s/mil if you are fixed 2 or 3 blade.
