1990 HUNTER 35.5 Throttle shifter

Hi everyone,
I am looking at buying a 1990 Hunter 35.5. it is in a very good condition and the deck was redone.
The throttle shifter is very hard, so hard that the handle broke.
Any idea of what can caused this? any suggestion for its replacement?

Probably the cable. Suggest you get the present owner to fix,rather than haggle over price reduction.

Thanks Bill. it is in my plan however I just want to be ready for a relacement incase he can't do it.

I had an '88 35, prob same transmission and control system. Both the plastic handle and cable needed to be replaced. Plastic handle broke...replaced it with metal Edson one. Cable was also an easy replacement.

As far as the shift cable goes, you would be better off taking the existing one into a supplier, if one's nearby. I don't have the Hunter 35 any more and the cables come in specific lengths. Shift lever comes from same supplier.
