I have just purchased a 1990 H27 and must move it. I have a trailer that needs modification to fit the hull. The H27 has the 3.6" draft/wing keel. Could someone provide me with the specifications for the placement of the support stantions to include height/width/spacing. Need distance from CT of dual wheels to winch. Also need to know the configuration required for the wing keel support. Will use the trailer for haul-outs each year and trips. Photos of trailer would be very helpful also. Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thank You James Calhoun

James, Unless you have the ability to modify

and build the new edition of your old trailer the cost of having a shop do it would probably excede the price of a used trailer. Cutting, modifing and welding cost will probably be $40 to $50 per hour. If you have a good set of plans the job will go about 4X faster. If you have a donor trailer that would help. A trailer equiped with rollers rather that bunks also allows a greater range of adjustments, but I wouldn't want my boat resting all winter on anything other than bunks. Suprisingly, there are quite a bunch of trailers around for boats larger than 26 to 30 feet for very good prices. If you can sling your boat out of the water and onto a trailer then an older truck flatbed trailer might be best. You can build a wooden cradle to set the boat on yourself. It would take a bigger truck to pull it where you want to spend the winter and she'd look fairly weird but it's cheap. Ray S/V Speedy

Ray Thanks for the response, I have a shop at my home and can do the work myself, have steel, etc to do the job. Will use the trailer to move the boat about 200 miles. I will use it occasionally to haul it home and work on it each season and in case of storms/hurricanes. It would be nice to have specs on stantions/bunks,winch, etc to save time with the trial and error method. Any info would help to include a photo of one setting on a trailer. Email address is jcal@worldnetla.net Thanks Jim

James, I'll check on a trailer set up for a Cat

250 wing keel and see if the gentleman still has it. It was roller set-up and had tons of adjustability. I liked the trailer more than the boat and for what he wanted I'm sure it's still there. Try to get back by Monday. Ray
