Could anyone tell me if there is supposed to be a spring under the "rivet" looking pin that is supposed to pop into place when the rudder is down? Thanks.
On the bracket that held my pop up rudder there was a spring. On the boat was two female hole pieces "Gudgeons". On the rudder was the male "pintles". There was a flat sping that was below the top pintle and would snap underneath the gudgeon and lock. Otherwise the rudder would float out.
