I am presntly looking to purchase a 88-94 h-30 can someone tell me what is the bridge clearance and if there is a reguler and a tall rig version of the h-30,my problem is that there's a bridge with a 47' clearance that I need to clear and I really like that model ! Thank you ! Mike

'79 is different from '88-'94

The '89 mast height is 50' from the waterline to the top of the mast. There is no "tall" configuration to my knowlege. It should be an Isomat Spar (look at the base of the mast; you can also tell from the octagon shape of the boom). My 1990 is virtually the same boat; I measured the mast when having a new main sail cut and the spec was correct. I also hold my breath everytime I go under a 55' bridge in my area, keeping a close eye on the tide height. You might also find a way to accurate check the bridge. I've found clearances on charts to be very inaccurate at times (with is another reason for holding one's breath).

Shorten mast

I enjoy traveling in the intercoastal waterways. I cut 3' off the top of my mast making it 47'. Only the back stay has to be shortened and the main sail has to be trimed.
