1988 Hunter30 stern berth leak

I recently bought a 1988 Hunter 30. The berth bulkhead under the cockpit is wet and rotted from water damage. There is a leak from the cockpit sole. Has anyone had this problem and how do you fix this?
Also, I can't locate the leak. Any suggestions on how to locate the leak and fix this problem?

You probably need to find the leak before you do anything else. I would look at the cockpit drains first. Then also check the steering pedestal.

Once you know where the leak is coming from, you can cut out the cockpit sole. You need to be sure that you do not damage the piece that you are removing. Then you can replace the plywood and place the fiberglass piece in place and redo the non-skid.

On my 91 Hunter 30 I had a leak in that area that came from the screw holes that hold the rudder cover in place. There are two screws on the top and two on the side. Take the cover off and see if the screw holes are the problem.
