Hunter 28.5 and 40 windsor Ontario
We are in final stages of buying a 1987 hunter 40.
I want to add midship cleats for a spring line mainly to make it easier for docking the boat. 90% of the time I sail with just my wife and our 28.5 has cleats mounted to the toe rail from the previous owner.
so my question is for 40 foot boat what is the best way to add a midship cleat I know on the toe rail is not ideal but what do you guys suggest.
thank you

You have a nice slotted toe rail, why don't you just use that. You could always attach a carabineer to the rail.

You could clip a snatch block to the toe rail and then run a line to a winch. that would give you a lot of control.

Are you sure you don't have a midships cleat? My 40.5 as them and a toe rail opening with rollers for a fair lead
