Rules that out then !!! Suggestion for you: take a flexible fish and insert it in the hose. You'll be able to measure how long it is before it hits a snag or the hose ends. That might give you an idea. Other suggestion: blow air in that hose, or put a water hose at the visible end and turn it on so you can ear the gurgling at the other end, thus showing you where it's coming from.

And, we have a winner: I spoke with the original owner and he stated 'at one time' he had an electric head put in... The hole was a chase for the electrical to the new head. And, the electric head turned out to be what an electric head usually turns out to be: more trouble than its worth - - so, it was removed.

Ya mystery solved ‼

However for anyone that cares about the shower sump on the h34's
All of the h34 had were equipped with a sump pump and float switch that was wired and powered by the 12 volt fresh water pump. There was never any holes drilled in the shower sump area to connect it to the main bilge. Any holes found in the shower sump area have been made by owner mods.

There are no water tanks in the bow section of the h34 as the storage compartments in the bow under the v-berth had a multi function.
Storage was the main function for most cruisers. However the dealership could make them watertight and the forward section below the waterline was now used as a collision bulkhead.

Just a FYI
