1986 Hunter 34 Pedestal Guard Replacement

I'm looking for a replacement for my 1986 Hunter 34's pedestal guard. I contacted Edson and they suggested that I look for a custom fabricator. This seems a little silly, as these were very common boats. Are there really no replacement parts for these? My guard is 12.5" on center and 1" in diameter. Any insight?

look on ebay for this part as it is a yacht specialty pedestal and are no longer made...wish i had known i just cut one off to get the extensions i needed for mine ...i have the top half that is bent in the 180% semi circle ...you could have it extended by a welding shop by adding new 1" tubing to it and you are welcome to it if you like

Hi Steve... I changed my pedestal guard a couple of years ago to accommodate my new electronics... I still have it along with my Data Marine electronics... Let me know if you're interested... I have a Hunter 34, 1983.

Wow - is your pedestal guard the dimentions I mentioned? Do you, by chance, have a photo?

1" diameter 8.5" across, 52" height...

I think that's the more narrow one. Mine flares out at the bottom and is wider than some I've seen.

Here are some picks of my old guard. It's 14 and 1/2 inches wide. Not sure if its the same. This one came off my 1984 34. It's about 47 inches high. Let me know if you think it would work.

I am also looking for a pedestal guard for my 1985 34 Hunter. 12.5” wide and 1” in diameter. The “loop” was cut off before I bought the boat and I would like to mount electronics on it as well as having a grab handle. Any thoughts?

I replaced mine and you will probably not find one already made. I looked for a long time and then had one made. It was painless and fit perfectly. A good boatyard can do it very quickly.
