It is time to replace the cutlass bearing for the shaft, and I am wondering if anyone knows if it is necessary to remove the rudder to be able to remove the bearing?
Replaced Camelot's (1985 h40) on the hard a year ago. I was able to sneek the shaft out without removing the rudder but it was close. I have also removed a cutless (on another boat) without removing the shaft. One note, the old cutless was fiberglass and I had to cut it out. I replaced it with bronze so next time I can just press it out.Mike sendsS/V Camelot out
